Introduction

The rapid growth of the AM industry is still going on with the development of new technologies which accelerate the industrialisation of AM, especially for metals. Also, apart from laser powder bed fusion, alternative AM processes and post processes are of interest because they push 3D printing from big production facilities into small workshops and even inside our homes.

This Special Interest Seminar focuses on the overview of AM over the past 30 years, which is also the period of time EPMA exists. The outlook on the future of AM will be the next topic of interest in this session along with useful presentations on the industrialisation of AM.
